TINY DEATHS WITHOUT DIGNITY

I remember the first day of Anatomy class, walking into the large cavernous hall of cadavers and gazing upon one well-preserved corpse, a nameless cold shell that once housed a soul, and for whatever life it had, realizing it's lifeless body would now reveal for my benefit the wondrous display of comprehensive organs and tissues.

But I also recall one moment in the third year of medical school in which an orthopedic professor explained the various surgical techniques used to treat several different types of ankle fractures.  As sort of a footnote at the end, the professor lowered his voice and explained that these surgical techniques, since modified, originally came from the medical experiments conducted by Nazi physicians in concentration camps prior to the War.

A parallel to this footnote came to mind this week on viewing the seventh and eighth released videos depicting Planned Parenthood's custom abortions and their selling of baby body parts and organs for profit.  An ex-procurement technician, Holly O'Donnell, describes the surgical approach used to obtain an intact baby brain by cutting into the baby's face.  An intact brain containing both hemispheres and brainstem brings a premium price in the fetal tissue procurement market; a cryopreserved liver fetches $25,000.  She struggles as she describes being instructed to make the initial incision just below the chin and to direct it vertically upwards midline through the infant's mouth, its nose, between the eyes, and through the skull, harvesting the brain much like one would shell a pea.  Ms. O'Donnell has the same difficulty in describing the "clean-up" instructions by the female abortionist.

Supporters of these actions claim this may find treatments; these actions being a means to an end.  This is the same rationale used, going forward, by the Nazi physicians explaining at the Nuremberg Doctor Trials that their medical experiments were intended to improve the health not only of the military personnel, but of others, and to find treatments for a variety of other medical conditions.  Some of their testimony is on record in William Shirer's book, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.  Internet PDF files are also available.

Their experiments included the injection of tuberculin and typhus bacteria into small children (to determine a natural immunity to TB).  Twins were special and would be subjected to spinal surgery, then castrated in an attempt to find the secrets to heredity.  Other experiments on children included instilling drops or injecting dye into their eyes (to determine if eye color could be changed).  It's not difficult to imagine how an ankle fracture might be created for experimental surgery after reading how Nazi doctors would needlessly amputate the legs of "donor" and "recipient" subjects in an attempt to determine if it was surgically possible to transplant a human limb.  These experiments, like Planned Parenthood's custom abortions were cloaked in great secrecy.

In this latest PP video the woman abortionist is described by the ex-technician as sharing with her, in a cutesy manner, how by tapping the baby's heart she could reestablish its rhythmic beat.  She was shown this only minutes prior to harvesting the baby's brain, the technician admitting that as she did she really wasn't sure if the baby was alive or dead.

In order to harvest human organs for transplantation in adults the donor patient must be "brain dead" which is defined as the "irreversible cessation of total brain function."  Here we have Planned Parenthood abortionists and technicians admittedly harvesting for profit the organs and brain from a baby whose brain may still be functioning as the harvesting incisions are made, so incentivizing are the profits.  And, like their Nazi counterparts, they allude to the necessary secrecy veiled both in language and deed.  It's a means to an end.

One may counter that comparing what PP is doing and what Nazi doctors did are apples and oranges as PP acts upon late term fetuses while the Nazi's are experimenting on after birth children, and adults.  But there's concern now in light of the witnesses who've worked at StemExpress, the biotech company partnering with PP and buying fetal organs, that babies are now being kept alive in order to achieve as many desirable and intact organs as possible, for which technicians are paid bonuses.  In the eighth video, StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer admits that they are in the volume business and that PP is obtaining "a lot" of intact fetuses for organ harvesting, stating that the demand is such that "another 50 livers a week" would not be enough.  Further evidence that live infants are being obtained is inferred from the fact that chemicals used to kill a fetus in a tissue procurement case is not allowed, so a fetus delivered intact for organ harvesting is likely to be a born-alive infant.

In an interview this week neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson commented along with others that miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, and accidents provide, naturally so, the tissues needed for this area of research making the killing of infants unnecessary.

Most all of the abortionists here are young women and one might wonder if any of them are mothers.  Because it's hard to imagine how a woman, having birthed a baby vaginally, would still be able to perform in good conscience a procedure requiring the deft employment of surgical instruments knowing the baby's internal organs would be harvested intact.  If so, at best they are spiritually sclerosed and at worst possess a conscience that is either non-existent or deviantly formed.  Are they not unlike, at least in conscience, those Nazi physicians, themselves fathers, who conducted those horrific experiments on children and others -- in which case, if so, they have devolved into not much more than that old Anatomy cadaver, that soulless cold shell as cold as the metal grate on which it laid or the grave in which it now sits.

Lincoln once said that "nothing stamped with the Divine image and likeness was sent into the world to be degraded, and imbruted."  Does this "dignity" not also attach to those human beings who happen to be in the womb?
